Accessing the DVR from Internet Explorer 8

The Kirkwood Bark & Lounge DVR from Georgia CCTV has a built in web server that may be accessed using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. In order to properly access the DVR, you will need to utilize an ActiveX control that will be downloaded and installed the first time you connect to the DVR. This installation process will require that some security settings be temporarily changed. The user running IE should be an administrator level account.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, ensure that User Account Control is disabled within Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control settings.

Start Internet Explorer. You may attempt to connect to the DVR by typing in the IP of the DVR in the address bar. More than likely you will encounter a security error since an ActiveX control needs to be downloaded and installed.

Open the Tools menu (click on Tools in the top line menu or press Alt-T) 1. Select Internet Options.

2. Click on the Security tab. 3. Click on Trusted sites. 4. Press the Sites button 5. Uncheck the box that says “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this

zone” 6. Type the address of the DVR (including http://) in the box labeled “Add this website to the zone:” and press the Add button. Press the Close button. 7. Back on the Internet Options box, press the Custom level... button. 8. Scroll down until you find a section labeled “ActiveX controls and plug-ins” and enable all options within this section. 9. Press the OK button and confirm the setting change and then press the Apply button. Press OK to exit from Internet Options.

Connect to the DVR by typing the IP of the DVR into the address bar http://70.89.251.30. The ActiveX control should download and install and you should now see the login screen.

After installation, return to Tools: Internet Options: Security, click on Trusted sites and press the Default level button, Apply and OK to reset the security settings.
